Our Story

How it all started...

In 1975, what started as an idea to connect, grow, and serve with other local believers, fueled a desire for a new fellowship to study God’s word in pursuit of Jesus.  A few community bible studies formed and were later joined together.  This group quickly grew into a budding fellowship pursuing Jesus as God moved in the lives of the people in the Hoosic Valley area.

Expanding the vision...

By 1978 Hoosic Valley Community Church was planted and began holding Sunday morning services in various buildings in the village of Schaghticoke. The vision for the congregation continued to grow so that in 1992, a building of our own was established.  Hoosic Valley Community Church continues to flourish, drawing people from many of the surrounding communities.

Where we are headed...

As we sit here on the hill just outside of Schaghticoke, new challenges to our community have arisen, and a desire to not just gather but go out as disciples requires a heightened focus on hospitality. This renewed focus calls us to connect, grow, and serve with those in our church and their local communities of Hoosic Valley, Greenwich, Cambridge, Stillwater, and Mechanicville. The places where our members live, is the fertile ground for this new and continued growth. As the Spirit of God moves in the hearts of those around us, HVCC seeks to strengthen the bonds among believers and bring new people to faith in Christ, because Jesus is the Good News.
